  • Lynda’s: Gators Triple Play End of Year 2012

Did this on Muzenews and then copy HTML to here.  Next time will do the opposite.  Had troubles getting it done there.

Wasn’t going to do a Triple play, just couldn’t come up with anything — changed my mind. In a few days I’ll hit a mile stone if the good Lord willing — turning 65 years old. So here is my sort of out of the box thinking on end of the year — more on the hopefully years to come.

    I’m not looking back —
    I’m looking forward!

    *~*~*~*~*

When I Am An Old Horsewoman
I shall wear turquoise and diamonds,
And a straw hat that doesn’t suit me
And I shall spend my social security on
    white wine and carrots,
And sit in my alleyway of my barn
And listen to my horses breathe.
I will sneak out in the middle of a summer night
And ride the old bay gelding,
    Across the moonstruck meadow
If my old bones will allow
And when people come to call, I will smile and nod
As I walk past the gardens to the barn
and show instead the flowers growing
    inside stalls fresh-lined with straw.
I will shovel and sweat and wear hay in my hair
as if it were a jewel
And I will be an embarrassment to ALL
Who will not yet have found the peace in being free
to have a horse as a best friend
A friend who waits at midnight hour
With muzzle and nicker and patient eyes
For the kind of woman I will be
    When I am old.

  • “I”m not looking back, I’m looking forward”

What a great way to think, but too often easier said than done.  I love the photos Katie took of you and your beautiful horse, and loved hearing that version of that song. I love a great rockin old classic tune anyway but this one is extra great because the joy they have in this performance is almost tangible. It also brought back a lot of good and fun memories of my days in the band. It’s a little bittersweet, but more sweet than bitter. You did a great job on this and I’m glad you haven’t given up posting. May your new year be filled with as many blessings as you can hold. Hugs and Love!

  • O I love these shots! Hi! I know it has been a while since I have been on & for some odd reason your blogs are NOT showing on my page. Ugh!

  • By the way how do you get the horse to wash his feet like that? LOL

  • @EmpressCelena - Diamond didn’t want to put her feet in the water.  I was training her.  I would ask her to move forward but if she stepped over the tub, she had to back and start over.  It took several tries before I got it done.

  • LOL It is cute as it looks like she is trying to wash her feet in there!

  • @EmpressCelena -  she was being a real drama queen, don’t want my feet wet!  Diamond is a lot of fun inspite of the Drama Queen, Diva, Prima dona attitude.

  • Sorry I was trying to fix my page. But I think I totally wrecked it. I can’t even see the bar to fix page &  theme. *sigh*

  • @EmpressCelena - I’m no help there.  I tried to change some things on my page this week and failed.

  • I went to the sites blog & left a message. If you go to my page what does it look like?
